About the Professional Development Committee
This committee is entrusted with the responsibility to scheme out extracurricular activities which will embolden and ameliorate the professional skills of the students. The committee aims at providing a platform through which students can begin their journey towards polishing their oratory and writing skills along with closely understanding the legal community. We aspire to actualize our ideas into successful events through which participants as well as the members of the committee will gain enriching legal knowledge and make cherish able memories.
About the Competition
On the momentous occasion of the Constitution Day/ Samvidhan Divas, Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Law is elated to organise its 1st National Essay Writing Competition. Through the means of this event students would revisit the legacy that is our Constitution and pay homage to all our freedom fighters and the makers of our Constitution.

Eligibility
This competition is open for all the Law students pursuing Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses across India.
Registration and Submission Guidelines

Co-authorship is allowed (maximum 2 others). However only one entry is allowed per author.

A participant may submit ONLY ONE essay
-
All essays are to be submitted at : dypcollegeoflawpdc@gmail.com in both word (doc or.docx) and PDF (.Pdf) format with the subject titled as “TITLE OF ESSAY: NAME OF AUTHOR(S) & COLLEGE”.

A cover page should be attached to the essay mentioning the participant’s name, academic year and contact details.

Submissions shall be only in English.

Identification mark of any form in the essay shall lead to disqualification.

Word Limit: 1000-1500 words.

Font: Times New Roman, Font size: 12, Spacing: 1.5

Submissions shall only be accepted in .doc or .docx format.

For citations and references the Bluebook, A Uniform System of Citation (20th Edition), should be strictly followed.

No submissions shall be entertained after the last date.

Only original essays will be considered for the competition. No part of it should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication or a contest elsewhere. Moreover any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of essay. Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Law reserves all the rights related to essay.
