About the Call for Chapters
Goal 16 aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 is the penultimate goal within the 2030 agenda, signifying that there can be no sense of sustainability when there is no stability, peace, assurance of effective governance, or protection of human rights.
Significant attention should therefore be placed on defining and modifying national and international policies to advance justice, good governance, and peace and ensure their effective implementation. This is particularly important for contexts where conflict and violence continue to persist.
SDG 16 is at the core of the 2030 agenda. It is a driving force behind the achievement of all other SDGs.
Youth need SDG 16 to reach their full potential, and SDG 16 can only be met with the full engagement of young people. To have an impact on their societies, young people require an enabling environment that promotes peace, justice, and inclusiveness.
In this spirit, Takhte Writers & Publishers, in cooperation with UNESCO, is launching a call for contributions for a publication on ‘Indian Youth Perspectives on Peaceful and Inclusive Societies‘. The publication aims to advance youth research and analysis on the recent trends and practices to progress on SDG 16 in India.
