GIL (Geeta Institute of Law) is organizing their Justice Dipak Misra National Moot Court Competition 3(12) of 2022, scheduled to be held on March 12-13, 2022.
About Geeta Institute of Law
Geeta Institute of Law is one of the parts and parcel of the dream of Late Sh. Khushi Ram, the founder member of K.R. Education Society around 18 years ago. Today it has emerged with a galaxy of twelve institutes under a banner of Geeta Group of Institutions. The Justice Dipak Misra National Moot Court Competition 1(10) of 2020 is being organized by Geeta Institute of Law under the auspicious support of Geeta Group Of Institutions which promises to provide an experience par excellence.
About Justice Dipak Misra
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipak Misra has served as the 45th Chief Justice of India from 28th August, 2017 till 2nd October, 2018. Born on 3rd October, 1953, Justice Misra enrolled at the Bar in 1977 and practised at the Orissa High Court. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Orissa High Court in 1996 and was transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court where he was made a Permanent Judge in 1997. In December 2009, Justice Misra was appointed Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, serving until May, 2010, where he was appointed Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Justice Misra was elevated to the Supreme Court of India on 10th October, 2011 and assumed charge as the Chief Justice of India on 28th August, 2017. A former Judge of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh High Court and a former Chief Justice of Patna and Delhi High Courts, he is a bold and Humane Judge.
As a judge, Justice Misra has delivered several judgments in the field of human rights, civil liberties and rights concerning the lives of the citizens. He has also decided important issues pertaining to commercial and contractual matters, corporate law and issues in the field of taxation and arbitration. While he was a Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, he had struck down amendments to the Act that provided gradually taking away grant-in-aid from the aided educational institutions. That decision saved the livelihood of thousands of teachers.

Eligibility
The Competition is open for bonafide students pursuing 5 Year and 3 Years LL.B. Course.
Language
The language for the Competition shall be English only.
Team Composition
Each team shall consist of three members (two speakers and one researcher). The researcher will only be allowed to argue instead of a speaker, with prior permission of the Dean - Geeta Institute of Law.
Dress Code
The participants shall be in Formals inside the Court Room.

Registration

The teams should provisionally register through e-mail by sending a mail to moot2020@geeta.edu.in (with subject “Provisional Registration for Justice Dipak Misra National Moot Court Competition 3(12) of 2022”) by 19th January, 2022.Please mention your name, college name, contact details in provisional registration.

The soft copy of the registration form along with the demand draft/NEFT Details of Rs. 5000/- on or before 21st January, 2022 drawn in the name of “Geeta Institute of Law”, payable at Panipat by sending a mail to mootgil@geeta.edu.in

We may change the mode of Moot Court Competition from offline to online in case lock down is imposed by Government. If such situation arises, half of the Moot Court Registration fees shall be returned back to participating teams.

No change in the names of the participants shall be permitted unless the same has been communicated to the Organizers of the moot court a week prior to the event.

No certificates shall be provided until the completion of the Competition. The same shall be provided only after the Valedictory Ceremony on 13th March 2022.

Each Team will be allotted a code after the Hard copy of Registration form and DD/Payment have been received by Geeta Institute of Law.
Registration Fee
Rs 5000/-for each participating team consisting of 3 members. (With decent accommodation)
The mode of payment shall be Demand Draft/ NEFT/RTGS/IMPS transaction.
The Demand Draft shall be drawn in the favor of "Geeta Institute of Law" payable at Panipat.
