About the Opportunity
The DPIIT-IPR Chair at Osmania University, is organizing a Know Your IP series of Weekly Lectures/ Interactions/ Interviews with the primary objective of dissemination of knowledge on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). It will offer insights and inputs on various forms of IPRs relevant to all the stakeholders, by demystifying the fundamentals of IP and highlighting the recent developments in the Intellectual Property (IP) domain.
The Know Your IP Week-22 Online Lecture is on the topic Limitation and Exceptions to Copyright relating to Educational Use– An Overview to be presented by Dr. Betsy Vinolia Rajasingh, IP Academic & Author.
About the Resource Person
Dr. Betsy Vinolia Rajasingh is an intellectual property academic with research interest in intellectual property laws, internet laws and the inter-relationship between intellectual property, technology, and social and economic development.
Dr. Rajasingh completed her Bachelor of Laws (BL) from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai, as a college topper and went on to pursue her Master of Laws (LLM), specializing in Intellectual Property and Technology Law at the National University of Singapore as a merit scholarship awardee.
Subsequently, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Law (PhD) studying the impact of digital technology on Indian copyright law, with specific reference to access to education, as a UGC Junior Research Fellowship awardee at The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.
Her book “Digital Copyright Law: A Comparative Study of the Limitations and Exceptions to Education” has been published with Thomson Reuters in 2020. Apart from research and teaching, Dr. Rajasingh has also worked in Singapore and India, specializing in intellectual property practice.
