She was born in Moscow to an Indian father and an American mother and grew up in France. After the German invasion of France, she joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) and was trained as a wireless operator.
In 1943, Princess Noor was recruited by the Special Operations Executive (SOE), a secret British organization responsible for espionage and sabotage in occupied Europe. She was the first female radio operator to be sent to France, where she worked under the code name “Madeleine”. Despite the risks, Princess Noor continued to transmit messages to London, helping to coordinate the French Resistance.

She was tortured and eventually executed at the Dachau concentration camp in September 1944, at the age of 30.
