Associate Director - Legal

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• To be the primary owner of Zeta’s customer agreements with Banks and Fintechs around the world. This would include drafting, negotiating, managing internal and external stakeholders, managing other subject matter experts whose inputs are necessary for such agreements as well as managing external legal advisors assisting the company on such assignments. .
• Provide legal advice and opinions on all legal matters that impact the business and provide innovative solutions to minimize/manage the legal risks involved with the company’s business operations in various jurisdictions around the world.
• To communicate effectively and lead discussions with internal stakeholders (such as management, leadership teams, Finance, HR, Information Security etc) and external stakeholders (customers/clients, vendors, investor representatives, industry association representatives).
• To constantly improve and evolve the drafts and templates created by the legal team, from learnings from each customer. Strive to simplify drafting in order to achieve quicker turn-around-times and to make legal agreements easier for non-legal stakeholders to understand. To be a business enabler and work in a manner where the legal team is aligned to the speed of delivery and culture of teamwork within Zeta.

Qualification & Experience

• 5 year BA.LLB (Hons) degree from a reputed national law university/college.
• LLM or post graduate degree in law from a reputed international law university specifically in the field of technology law.
• Post Qualification Experience: 10-12 years in a top tier law firm within the technology law practice of the firm; and/or As an in-house counsel in a SaaS Technology Company (persons with prior experience in law firms, but currently working as in-house counsel will be preferred over persons with no prior law firm experience).
