Provide legal advice to Zscaler’s local People & Culture team on how to comply with local employment laws in India/APJ region. Topics include offer letters, job classifications, compensation, pay equity, benefits, leaves of absence, recruitment, background screening, employee mobility, immigration, performance management, terminations, required trainings, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
Work independently and proactively to identify employment legal and compliance gaps and advise and facilitate recommended actions and policy development.
Stay abreast of new and developing employment legal laws and regulations and develop a plan and program for compliance in partnership with P&C.
Draft and review employment-related policies and procedures and support P&C teams, including Employee Relations, on necessary guidance, policy, and process documents.
Manage employment related disputes and litigation, regulatory and government administrative proceedings, including managing outside counsel.
Support and advise Employee Relations on employee complaint / hotline investigation matters and other workplace concern investigations as needed.
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills; ability to assess risks and convey clear and decisive advice to internal clients.
Qualification & Experience
Law degree and licensed to practice law in India or a common law jurisdiction
5-7 years post qualified employment law experience gained in private practice and in-house (at least 2 years in-house)
