Contract – Drafting & Negotiation: Drafting, vetting, and negotiating contracts of medium to high complexity, contracts for the foregoing aspects of the businesses by providing legal inputs and advice pertaining to Productions (Audio Visual Content, Music, Artists, Talent, Crew, etc.), Marketing, Tech-support, Ad-Sales, etc.
Rights Management Databases: Preparation and maintaining a real-time and accurate database for rights management to support business. Understanding of various content-related rights is a must.
Syndication: To support the licensing and other intellectual property related transactions by drafting and negotiating contracts.
Content Acquisition: Production, Acquisition, and commissioning agreements of content.
Standards & Practices: To review content and provide feedback on statutory/policy compliances.
Qualification & Experience
The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.).
Post Qualification experience of minimum of four– five (4-5) years as in-house lawyer of production houses/broadcaster/digital platforms and/or in law firms with Media & Entertainment practice.
Internship experience will not be considered towards the requirement of work experience.
Understanding of contracts laws, corporate laws, and general industry practices.
Thorough knowledge of laws related to intellectual property rights especially copyrights, broadcasting, digital streaming, social media, etc.
