In-house Legal Associate

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Providing legal review on a diverse range of IT-related matters, including Data Governance / Big Data | Technology Law | Cyber Law | Healthtech / Digital Health Law / Lifesciences | Software Development | Blockchain | Data Privacy (MAJOR AREAS OF FOCUS)
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and legal documents (MSA, NDA, SOW, etc) with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring version control.
• Adapting quickly to the latest tools and technologies, leveraging your tech-savviness to enhance legal processes with timely reporting;
• Managing contracts, internal processes, and everyday corporate law requirements with efficiency and precision.
• Review the T&C of websites/source directories to perform a check for crawlability and indexability.

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an in-house legal in the IT sector.
• Graduation from a Bar Council-recognized, reputed law school.
• Prior experience in contract management and drafting.
• In-depth knowledge of substantive laws in India to provide a review of ongoing operations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
• Understanding of copyright law and IPR to verify Fair Use of crawled data from different sources.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vision, and Outlook) and contract management systems and online research tools
• Understanding of Indian privacy law and global data privacy laws including GDPR/HIPAA. Knowledge of related practices such as DPIAs, TIAs, RoPA etc.
