As Cerner’s Senior Corporate Counsel in India, you will be focused on providing legal guidance to the company in the areas of contracting, employment law and compliance.
You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with Cerner suppliers and corporate social responsibilities (CSR) partners. This includes providing advice to the business on interpreting and improving agreements, risk management, partnering strategies and India’s CSR framework. You will also instruct outside counsel and work cross-functionally with Compliance, Finance, and other Legal team members as you help Cerner meet its legal obligations.
You will also counsel and guide Cerner’s human resources team on employment law, including recruiting and hiring practices, training programs, anti-harassment disciplinary actions, terminations, and wage compliance. You will proactively advise Cerner executives on legislative and regulatory developments and best practices in employment law. You will help develop and implement litigation strategy for administrative charges, government agency inquiries, arbitrations, and court cases.
You will support Cerner’s compliance program, reinforcing adherence to Cerner’s global code of conduct and Cerner’s compliance with applicable local and international anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws. This will include the provision of compliance training to Cerner India’s workforce. You will participate in investigations into allegations of misconduct by Cerner associates or contractors. You will support the due diligence process for Cerner vendors, contractors and CSR partners to ensure their compliance with Cerner’s supplier code of conduct. You will also counsel Cerner on data privacy, data security and telecommunications regulatory compliance, as well as other regulatory requirements unique to India and the region. You will support Cerner’s compliance with ISO certifications and audits, evaluate vigilance reporting and patient safety concerns and assist in responding to incidents involving confidential patient data.
Bachelor’s or Master of Law
At least 5 years of experience in commercial contracts, employment laws, compliance.
