About CHRSS
Centre for Human Rights and Subaltern Studies (CHRSS) was created with an objective to work for the protection of human rights on 7 March 2019.The aim of the Centre is to achieve the goals of Social Justice enshrined in our Preamble and to achieve this goal, the members of the Committee promises to engage in discourse, Seminar, Webinar, Legal Aid so as to ensure that we return even some percent back to the society. Centre has organized total 5 Seminars, 2 Webinar, 1 Workshop and 1 Legal Awareness programme. The Centre is currently running a Social Welfare Program with the name “AAHAAR SAB KA ADHIKAAR” under which food is provided daily to the poor and needy free of cost. Centre has organized two National Seminar titled "Gender Sensitive Education: A Necessity to Eradicate Gender Discrimination” & “Prevention and Abolition of the Practice of Witch Hunting in India” in collaboration with National Commission for Women, New Delhi. Centre has come up with its own journal on 10th of December, 2020 titled “NUSRL Journal of Human Rights”. Presently the Centre is headed by Dr. Subir Kumar (Convenor), Dr. Gunjan (Co- Convenor) & Ms. Soni Bhola (Member).
About UGC Women's Studies Center
On 1st April, 2016 the UGC sponsored Women's Studies Centre was established and within a fortnight a full-fledged independent department of Women's Studies was created in Patna University, Patna. The vision of the Department is to make a conducive environment for creation of gender equality in society. Patna University is a premier institution of Higher Education in the state which produces and disseminates knowledge in keeping with the needs of the society. Women's studies is an interdisciplinary entrant in the arena of knowledge and focuses on women’s life and struggle, questions women's subordination in socio-economic, political and cultural domains and strives for transformation of unequal society into one where gender justice and equality sought to be the norm. Women's studies centre have been organizing programs such as Seminars, Workshops, Lectures, Debates and Conference etc. The Centre has organized workshops and seminars on Child abuse, gender sensitization, Intellectual Property Rights and several other of social concern. During COVID-19 pandemic period a series of webinar were conducted in the name of SAMVAAD on various burning issues. (SAMVAAD is an online platform to encourage solution-oriented dialogue with the various luminaries). Besides this the Centre is continuously engaged in awareness generation programs, on social different and philanthropic activities for women, migrant labour, flood victims of Bihar. The Centre is headed by Dr. Sunita. Roy. Dr. Rakesh Ranjan is working as a Project Associate in the centre.
Call for Papers
We cordially invite Articles and Research Papers on the Theme and Sub-Themes from Academicians, Researchers, Advocates and Students to submit high-quality research papers. Research papers received for inclusion in the seminar proceedings shall be subject to the approval of the Editorial Committee. All the participants are expected to submit their original, unpublished research work. All research papers shall also be subject to scrutiny of an anti-plagiarism software.
Themes & Sub-Themes
This seminar is organized with the objective of promoting interdisciplinary research in the field of religious rights of women and human rights in the 21st Century to promote and exchange of ideas between the experts. It also provides an opportunity to researchers of the concerned fields of knowledge to formalize their curiosity and to gather the views of jurists, academicians & Legal practitioners. In the above background, Centre for Human Rights and Sub-altern Studies, NUSRL extends a warm invitation to the participants to contribute their original research work on the following sub-themes:

Religious freedom promoting gender equality among women.

Intersection of religious freedom and women rights.

Analysis of recent Anti-Conversion laws in light of the rights of Women.

Apart from other necessary Chapters, the Participants should try to include the following chapters in their Research Paper - Introduction, Review of Literature, Recommendations and Conclusion.

The Final Paper should be about 3500-5000 words. It must be submitted in ‘Word/.docx’ file. PDF files are not allowed. The Text should be in Times New Roman, Font Size - 12 & Spacing - 1.5. The Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font Size - 10 with Single Spacing. One Inch Margin on all sides should be maintained. All submissions must follow the Blue Book Standard (20th Edn) of referencing.
