About Faculty Development Programme by Manipal University
- The One Week program is conceived as a reflective, capacity-building initiative aimed at re-examining traditional approaches to legal teaching and encouraging a transition to pedagogies that are socially responsive, context-sensitive, and learner-centric. As Indian legal education confronts complex contemporary challenges ranging from access to justice and legal pluralism to technological transformation and interdisciplinary demands, there is an increasing need for law teachers to move beyond purely doctrinal instruction and embrace socio-legal perspectives that connect law with lived realities.
- This FDP seeks to provide a collaborative platform for faculty members to engage in scholarly dialogue, share best practices, and explore innovative teaching methodologies that integrate doctrinal rigor with socio-legal awareness. Through expert sessions, interactive discussions, and experiential learning components, participants will be encouraged to critically reflect upon their teaching philosophies and redesign classroom practices that cultivate analytical thinking, ethical sensitivity, and social consciousness among law students.
