About the Journal
The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws was established in 2008 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) as a ‘Centre of Excellence’?, with the aim of generating awareness and facilitating research in the field of business and commercial laws.
About the Call for Papers
The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws is thrilled to release the Call for Papers for the 8th edition of one of its most highly anticipated events of the year, the NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws, in collaboration with Trilegal.
Eligibility
Authors must be pursuing their LL.B. (Hons.) / LL.B. / LL.M. from any recognized university for the academic year of 2022-2023, to be eligible to participate in the Summit.
Theme
Persons who wish to participate in the Summit shall be encouraged to incorporate an innovative and diverse approach to the topic while taking into consideration a wide array of issues arising out of commercial and corporate laws. The submissions are expected to be of contemporary social relevance and must demonstrate high standards of scholarship. Furthermore, authors are encouraged to use diverse
methodology and base their research on the analysis of existing judicial practice, legal instruments and sources, or based on empirical data.
Submission Guidelines
The word limit of the manuscript shall be as follows:

Long articles – 4000 to 7000 words

Short articles- 2000 to 4000 words
-
Case comments- 2000 to 4000 words
-
Legislative Comments- 2000 to 4000 words
Submissions are expected to be original work by the author and meet high academic standards.
The following guidelines ought to be followed:
-
The title must succinctly encapsulate the topic and explain the body of work.

There must be an abstract (250-300 words) which briefly describes the idea behind the submission, its structure, and the author’s conclusion(s).

A submission will not be accepted if it has been plagiarized. The NLIU-Trilegal Summit has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. Please note that any plagiarized submission will be outrightly rejected.

Co-authorship is permissible only up to a maximum of two authors. However, co-authorship is not allowed for Case Comments, Legislative Comments, and Book Reviews.
Formatting Guidelines
Kindly adhere to the following formatting guidelines:
-
The title must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 14, in CAPITALS, Bold, aligned CENTRE.

The text of the main body of the manuscript must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, 1.5 spacing between lines and automatic spacing between paragraphs, aligned JUSTIFIED.

We accept citations in the form of footnotes which must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, spacing 1, aligned JUSTIFIED, OSCOLA 4th Edition.
How to Submit?

Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts before 11:59 PM on 8 March 2023, via the google form provided at the end of this post.

The form must contain the following documents, in addition to the manuscript and personal details and

affiliation of the author(s), without which the submission will NOT be accepted:-

An originality statement, signed by the author(s), declaring that the manuscript is the original work of the author(s);
-
A copyright statement, signed by the author(s), whereby the author(s) agrees that the copyright in the work shall vest with CBCL.

Each author will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of their submission from CBCL shortly after submitting.

Registration details
Authors whose papers are selected for presentation at the Summit shall be required to pay an amount of INR 1000 for single-author entries and INR 1500 for co-authored entries.
Note: The Centre will provide accommodation to all the participants.
