Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services 2022 Exam Pattern
The examination is conducted in two stages first one is a preliminary examination and then the main examination. The personality test rounds will be carried out after the main examination. The test pattern is given below for every stage of the examination.
Preliminary Examination

Number of Papers: The total number of papers in the preliminary exam is three and all three papers will be conducted on a single day.

Name of the Papers: The three papers are named Civil Law – 1, Civil Law – 2, Criminal Law

Duration: Each paper will have a duration of one hour.

Nature of Exam: The exam will be of objective type consisting of three papers of 100 marks each.
Main (Narrative) Examination

Number of Papers: The number of papers in the main exam will be 5. The date sheet will be made available by the Commission on the website.

Name of the Papers: The five papers are named Civil Law – 1, Civil Law – 2, Criminal Law, English Composition, Language (Hindi)

Duration: Each paper will have a duration of one hour.

Nature of Exam: The exam is narrative in nature. Civil Law papers-1, Civil Law-2, and Criminal Law are composed of 200 marks each, while English Composition and Language (Hindi) is composed of 150 and 100 marks respectively.
Personality Test
The candidates who qualify for the main exam will be called for the personality test. The maximum marks for the personality test will be 150. The marks obtained in the Personality Test will be added to the marks obtained in the Main written exam for the candidates ‘ selection.

Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services 2022 Exam Centres
The candidate will be given the option to choose the choice of their exam centres while filling the application form. The Commission will make every effort to allow the exam centre of the choice of the candidate However, the Commission may allow a different centre to a candidate if the circumstances arise. The centres of holding the examination are liable to be cancelled/changed at the discretion of the Commission. The centres for Preliminary examination are given below.
Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services 2022 Eligibility Criteria
The candidature is purely provisional and is subject to satisfying the eligibility criteria. The applicant should note that the issuance of the admission card does not guarantee that the Commission has approved his / her candidacy. So it is advised to check the eligibility before filling the application form. The candidate must be an Indian citizen to be eligible to apply. The eligibility criteria are as follows.
Educational Qualification:
The candidate must have a degree in Law as recognized by the Bar Council of India as of January 05, 2020.
Desirable Qualification:
The candidate must have the knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
The candidate must be suitable for appointment in the peculiar conditions in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
Age Limit:
The candidate must have attained the age of 22 years. The upper age limit is 35 years of age and the candidate’s age must not be more than this.
The upper age limit for SC candidates in Himachal Pradesh is relaxable by 3 years.
No relaxation of age limit excluding fee will be available for candidates for reserved categories (excluding SC category).

The number of vacancies is subject to variation and the number of vacancies in the service together with proportionate reservations to various categories in respect of this examination may vary.
