Karnataka Judicial Services Exam 2021-2022: Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be a citizen of India.

The applicant must be the holder of a degree in Law granted by a University established by Law in India and must have been enrolled as an Advocate.

The applicant must not be dismissed or removed from service or compulsorily retired by any High Court, Government or Statutory or Local Authority or another employer.

He must not have completed 35 years of age in the case of all the general candidates.

Applicants must not have completed the age of 38 years of age in the case if they belong to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.

Karnataka Judicial Services Exam 2021-2022: Probation Period
After the final selection of candidates for respective posts, candidates need to serve a probationary period of 2 years. During the probation period, the newly appointed Civil Judge must
Undergo training period of 1 year or more than 1 year as decided by the organization.
Pass Kannada Language Examination conducted by Karnataka Public Service Commission. This Kannada examination is conducted only for those candidates who have not passed the language examination earlier.
Karnataka Judicial Services Exam 2021-2022: Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the vacancies is done through the following procedure. Candidates securing minimum marks in each stage will be successfully eligible for receiving the appointment for the Civil Judge post.

Preliminary Examination - This is the first stage of Recruitment, wherein, candidates will be shortlisted based on the performance in the online exam. This exam includes multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. Candidates scoring above the cut off will be eligible for the Mains exam.

Mains Exam - This is the second stage of the selection process that is a descriptive model of the exam. This stage includes 4 sections for 400 marks. The marks scored by candidates in this section will be considered for the Interview round.

Viva-Voce or Interview - This stage tests candidate's general knowledge, principles of law, and suitability of the appointment for the post. The Interview is conducted for 25 marks.

Computer Test - This round is conducted to test the candidate’s knowledge of computers. Marks secured in the computer exam is not considered for the final result. The maximum marks allotted to the computer test are 25 marks.
