Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Contract Review and Negotiation
- Review, draft, and negotiate supply?chain contracts, including:
- Purchase agreements for active pharmaceuticals ingredients, bioscience materials, devices or packaging;
- Logistics services agreements such as transport, warehousing, customs brokerage, or 3PL services.
- Use approved templates, clause libraries, and playbooks to ensure consistency and speed.
- Ensure all agreements comply with GSK’s policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on contractual matters, ensuring clarity and alignment with the business objectives.
- Process & Delivery
- Manage contract requests through the Contract Lifecycle Management tool / intake system in line with the Service Level Agreements.
- Support high?volume contracting while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, playbooks, and contracting workflows.
- Risk Management
- Identify any legal risk associated with the commercial contracts being supported and mitigate the same by referring to Playbooks and leveraging any knowledge and support resources.
- Escalate non-standard issues to your line manager.
- Advise the Supply Chain business on any related legal, policy, regulatory requirements applicable to the contracting activities.
- Claim Management
- Manage – in coordination with the Procurement function – any claim with the suppliers for the recovery of losses due to a non-compliance with the contract requirements (commercial, compliance, quality or business provisions) or for any other cause of liability.
- Seek guidance from the Legal Dispute Resolution team in the event of escalation of the claim or for an early case assessment in the event of a dispute.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to ongoing or potential litigation matters.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) or equivalent; a master’s degree (LLM) or relevant certifications (e.g., Bar qualification) is a plus.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in corporate legal operations, contract management and/or litigation support.
- Prior experience working in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Good user skills of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools and platforms, with the ability to optimize their usage for operational efficiency.
- Strong legal knowledge of commercial purchasing activities, including drafting and negotiation of agreements.
- Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures.
- Core Competencies
- Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse and international team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and strong negotiation skills.
