Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Operating Model & Insourcing
- Develop, scale and implement the in-house eDiscovery operating model, including scope, workflows, and capacity planning
- Transition document review activities from external counsel to in-house delivery, ensuring continuity, quality, and defensibility
- Determine optimal delivery model (in-house vs external) across matters and monitor utilisation
- Define and implement vendor strategy, including selection, management, and optimisation of external providers where required
- Drive cost optimisation through insourcing and effective use of technology platforms
- eDiscovery & Review Management
- Lead end-to-end eDiscovery review projects across litigation, regulatory, and investigation matters.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end eDiscovery lifecycle across legal hold, collection, processing, review, and production, including coordination with forensic and data teams
- Act as the primary interface with forensic and IT teams, overseeing data collections and ensuring efficient transfer into review platforms
- Manage document review workflows including data assessment, culling strategies, search term validation, coding protocols, quality control, and production readiness.
- Partner with legal teams and outside counsel to develop review strategies and defensible review methodologies, including keyword development and leveraging AI capabilities
- Oversee privilege reviews, privilege log preparation, responsiveness determinations, and issue tagging processes.
- Monitor review progress, quality, productivity, and risk indicators throughout the lifecycle of a matter.
- Litigation & Investigation Support
- Support internal investigations through document analysis, fact development, issue identification, and evidence review.
- Prepare summaries, chronologies, key findings reports, and matter-specific insights for legal stakeholders.
- Support the global legal hold process, including issuing preservation notices and holds, tracking acknowledgments, and maintaining custodian and data source records.
- Assist legal teams with deposition preparation support, transcript reviews, witness-related document analysis, and matter tracking.
- Conduct legal and industry research to support litigation strategy and risk assessments.
- Support legal teams in tracking litigation developments, court filings, and relevant industry trends.
- Project & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary operational lead for assigned litigation and investigation matters.
- Coordinate activities across legal teams, outside counsel, eDiscovery vendors, forensic teams, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and communication plans.
- Design scalable workflows to manage high-volume document review and multi-matter environments
- Ensure timely execution of deliverables while maintaining quality, compliance, and defensibility standards.
- Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop review professionals supporting litigation and investigation matters.
- Define and maintain defensible eDiscovery standards, including documentation, audit trails, and process controls aligned with regulatory expectations
- Establish review protocols, training materials, standard operating procedures, and quality frameworks.
- Conduct training sessions for review teams on review methodologies, legal concepts, coding standards, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Analytics, Reporting & Operational Excellence
- Lead selection, implementation, and optimisation of eDiscovery platforms and AI-assisted review tools to support scalable in-house delivery
- Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reporting related to review progress, quality, productivity, budgets, and matter performance.
- Present updates and insights to litigation leadership and key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, technology adoption, process redesign, and AI-enabled review solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the eDiscovery and litigation support function.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline required. A degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent) is preferred; candidates with degrees in Business, Information Management, Operations, or other relevant disciplines, coupled with relevant experience, are also encouraged to apply.
- 15–20 years of experience in eDiscovery, litigation support, investigations, or related legal services functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale document reviews and complex litigation matters.
- Strong understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model.
- Experience supporting internal investigations and regulatory review matters.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional projects and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Certifications such as Relativity Certified Administrator, Relativity One, PMP, CEDS, or similar credentials is preferred
- Experience working with multinational organizations, global law firms, or legal service providers.
- Exposure to AI-assisted review, Technology Assisted Review, Continuous Active Learning, and analytics-driven review methodologies is preferred
- Strong knowledge of eDiscovery processes, workflows, and review methodologies.
- Experience with platforms such as Relativity, RelativityOne, Everlaw, Reveal, Nuix, Disco, or similar technologies.
- Strong experience in designing and executing Boolean search strategies, including keyword development, testing, and refinement, and leveraging AI-assisted review tools to enhance efficiency and defensibility
- Hands-on experience in configuring and managing eDiscovery platforms (e.g. Relativity/RelativityOne etc), including workspace setup, workflows, batching, analytics, and quality control
- Understanding of legal hold, collection, processing, review, production, and privilege workflows.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities, including dashboarding and metrics management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across geographies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Analytical, data-driven approach to performance management.
