Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Lead CDSL’s regulatory compliance and admission of constituent’s functions in line with SEBI regulations and MII governance expectations.
- Oversee surveillance, supervisory and inspection mechanisms for intermediaries, to ensure timely prevention and detection of non-compliance. Lead technology-enabled improvements in compliance, monitoring, surveillance, and reporting systems to enhance resilience, transparency, and operational effectiveness.
- Strengthen investor protection frameworks, grievance resolution processes, and stakeholder confidence through transparent and efficient monitoring mechanism. Support the Governing Board and relevant committees with regulatory insights, governance inputs, and periodic reporting.
- Drive engagement with Regulators for policy formulation and closure of audit, inspection, and regulatory observations. Discharge the role of Compliance Officer of CDSL under SEBI (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 2018.
- Support the Governing Board, MD, ED and integrate regulatory priorities into the company's overall strategic planning, build and mentor high-performing teams aligned with CDSL’s values, governance standards, and public interest mandate.
Qualification & Experience
- Master’s degree in law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or related disciplines from a reputed institution. Professional qualifications such as CA, CS, CFA, FRM, MBA, or equivalent will be preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum 20 years of experience in regulatory, compliance, legal, supervision, or related functions within capital markets, banking, depositories, exchanges, clearing corporations, or other regulated institutions. At least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong understanding of SEBI regulations, governance frameworks, market infrastructure operations, investor grievance mechanisms, and risk oversight. Experience with MIIs will be preferred.
