Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Drafts, generates, interprets, negotiates, and manages complex agreements in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these documents properly reflect business objectives;
- Advises and/or represents the organization on moderate to complex negotiations and contract administration matters;
- Participates in and/or conducts front-end assessments of legal risks, negotiates and executes agreements, and serves as primary contact with customers and/or suppliers to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements and customer specifications;
- Represents the organization to customers, suppliers, competitors and governmental agencies;
- Provides resolution of business or technical issues by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action;
- Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and makes recommendations to mitigate contractual/program risks;
- Compiles and analyzes data and maintains historical records;
- Manages small projects or processes and works autonomously with limited oversight from manager
- Coaches and reviews work of peers and junior team members
- Drives and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives
- Develops customer/supplier-specific templates and other standard work
- Logs turnbacks to enable process optimization
Qualification & Experience
- Contract negotiation experience, specifically with nondisclosure agreements
- Diligent attention to detail
- Strong English language proficiency
- Work hours will be per IST time zone, with flexibility to support periodic meetings with US east coast peers at extended hours
- Must have a bachelor’s degree; LLB preferred with 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
- Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in a law firm or similar legal setting, preferably with a focus on transactional law and/or commercial contracting
- Certification or experience in continuous or process improvement initiatives (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, or similar)
- Experience in a large matrixed organization
