Amity Law School Noida has been organizing various National and International Mooting competitions, Quizzes, Debates to encourage the students to develop their interest towards law as a whole. A Tournament on ADR shall be conducted by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society of Amity Law School, Noida with the aim to bridge the gap between the theoretical and practical application of concepts. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provides a substitute to the conventional methods of resolving disputes. It offers to resolve various types of matters including civil, commercial, industrial and family etc., where litigation takes years to settle the disputes. It also provides the parties with a channel to initiate a dialogue and reach the settlement expeditiously and cost-effectively. Generally, ADR uses a neutral third party who helps the parties to communicate, discuss the differences and resolve the dispute. It is a method which enables individuals and groups to maintain co-operation, social order and provides opportunity to reduce hostility. The main objective of this tournament is to bring out the latent talents of students, providing them with a learning experience and building their competitive spirit. It seeks to encourage them to explore the various aspects of dispute resolution, understand its intricacies and receive a more practical understanding of the alternate methods of dispute settlement out of court, which will ultimately promote the various mechanisms of ADR.   About the Tournaments The ADR Society of Amity Law School Noida is pleased to announce the 5th edition of the prestigious Amity Alternative Dispute Redressal Tournament 2022, scheduled on 3rd March -4th March 2022. ADR encourages litigants to negotiate directly with each other prior to some other legal process that are very much like a courtroom process. It is an upcoming law arena devoted to preparing a generation of law professionals capable of facing future demands confidently. It is a unique initiative and one of the best avenues worldwide where students can experience a medley of dispute resolution activities simultaneously. The main event comprised three sub- events which gives more subject specific and efficient control over the event and stipulated the knowledge station effectively. The brief of the events are as follows: The Mediation Arbitration Competition - It is a hybrid of Mediation and Arbitration. Each team will consist of 2 participants. Global Essay Competition on ‘Intergenerational Contract’, St. Gallen Symposium

Submissions are being accepted for the St. Gallen Global Essay Competition 2021-22 from around the world to offer the opportunity of applying for participation at the St. Gallen Symposium.   About the St. Gallen Symposium Gallen Symposium is intended to provide Leaders of Tomorrow with a platform where they can discuss with today’s executives at eye level and challenge them so that new approaches to thinking and solutions can emerge. The “Aspiring Leaders” are participants who have the potential to take on a leading role in the industry.   About the Essay Competition The St. Gallen Global Essay Competition is a global student essay competition, offering students who study at graduate or postgraduate level around the world the opportunity to apply for participation at the St. Gallen Symposium. The Knowledge Pool is a group of Leaders of Tomorrow with a strong affiliation to topics of relevance to the St. Gallen Symposium. They show outstanding track records in the particular fields they work or study. They are hand-selected by the International Students’ Committee. It is not possible to apply for membership in the Knowledge Pool.   About the Essay We expect a professional, creative and thought-provoking essay. Be bold, unconventional, and distinctive on the competition question.   Topic Collaborative Advantage: what should be written into a new intergenerational contract? The idea of a “generational contract” embodies the principles that younger and older generations rely on each other to provide mutual support across different stages of their lives. Inclusive education systems, sustainable welfare states and meaningful environmental action are some of many challenges requiring a cross-generational collaborative effort. Yet, with the climate crisis, rapid technological change and societal aging in many countries, the generational contract and notions of intergenerational fairness have been challenged. Members of the younger generation are raising their voices as they reflect on how their futures are being compromised by current decision-makers. What’s your specific and actionable idea that should be written into a new generational contract? Choose an area where you see evidence that intergenerational fairness is – or, going forward, will be – challenged and where the generational contract needs to be rewritten. Potential areas include, but are not limited to, business strategy and the economy, inclusive governance and education, the welfare state and health care, environmental sustainability, or the world of work. Describe your problem and offer concrete and practical proposals how inter-generational fairness can be restored or reinvented. Explain your idea’s impact for the future.   Eligibility Enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate programme (master level or higher) in any field of study at a regular university Born in 1992 or later Students on the bachelor level do not fulfil the eligibility criteria and therefore cannot enter the competition. There is no other way to apply for participation and we, therefore, encourage all students to join the competition once they pursue their studies at a graduate level*. You may, however, be eligible if the level of study in your current year is equivalent to the international graduate level which must be confirmed in writing by your university. (*): A graduate degree is any degree that is above a bachelor’s degree. This includes a master’s degree or doctoral degree.   Submission of following documents Copy of passport or other identification (in English for non-Roman languages) Confirmation of matriculation/enrolment from your university which proves your enrollment in a graduate/postgraduate level programme as of 1 February 2022 (download sample document here) Your contribution file with no indication of your name in the file name, the file metadata or the file itself   Fees The participation in the symposium is free for all Leaders of Tomorrow. Moreover, expenses for travel, board and lodging are covered by the ISC. However, we recommend bringing a small amount of pocket money for your convenience.   Prerequisites Form Essay (A maximum of 2,100 words, excluding abstract, bibliography, and footnotes) Language English Deadline 1 February 2022, 11:59 PM last time zone (UTC-12) Anonymity Your name, e-mail address, university, or any identifying details must not be mentioned anywhere in the contribution file.
