The Alliance Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ACADR) is inviting submissions through a Call for Articles on ADR for its June 2022 edition. About ACADR The Alliance University presents Alliance Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution. The centre aspires to change society’s viewpoints and aims to explore multiple facets of the Alternative Dispute Resolution systems. This helps provide quality knowledge and disseminate information on the contemporary issues in the field of ADR mechanisms. Call for Articles on ADR The second issue of the ACADR Newsletter focuses on the recent developments in the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) regime. The ACADR emphasizes unique perspectives and approaches. Selected articles will be published in the ACADR Newsletter – June 2022. Theme Judicial approaches towards recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards. Sub-themes Landmark judgments and development of ADR in India. Notable decisions by foreign courts on Commercial Arbitration. Best international practices pertaining to the enforcement of arbitral awards against State (Govt). About the Organizer Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University is India’s first Private State Women’s University. The state legislature of Rajasthan has established the university by the Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University, Jaipur Act (Act no. 17 of 2008). About the Competition Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University is organizing a moot court competition to expose students pursuing the law course to the Indian Court system & advocacy skills. General Details Date: May 7 to 8, 2022 Mode: Physical Venue: Faculty of Law and Governance, Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University, Jaipur Eligibility Criteria The competition is open to all Law students pursuing 5-year and 3-year LL.B. courses. 5th GLC-CTC National Tax Moot Court Competition 2022, at GLC Mumbai

Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai, and Chamber of Tax Consultants (CTC) Mumbai are organizing the 5th Edition of the National Tax Moot Court Competition. About the Organizers The Government Law College, established in 1855, is the oldest in Asia, a pioneer in legal education – an institution par excellence. The generations of legal luminaries who have been nurtured by this unique institution have made a seminal contribution to the evolution of the Indian Legal System. The Chamber of Tax Consultants (CTC) Mumbai is a non-profit organization established in 1926. The organization was formed to serve the object of educating and creating awareness among its members in Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Allied Laws, Corporate Laws, International Tax, etc. Eligibility All students of any recognized law college in the country can participate. Team Composition: Each team shall comprise three students- two speakers and one researcher. Format of the Moot Competition A maximum of 16 teams shall participate, and the registrations shall be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. The competition will be conducted in a hybrid model. The Prelim and Quarter Final rounds will be held online on June 5, 2022, and the Semifinals and Finals will be held offline on June 18, 2022, in Mumbai. 4th VIPS-Maadhyam National Virtual Negotiation Competition 2022

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies is organizing its 4th VIPS – Maadhyam National Virtual Negotiation Competition, 2022, from April 28 to May 1, 2022. About VIPS Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, affiliated with GGSIP University, was established in the year 2000 with the vision to impart world-class quality professional education and promote excellence in education. In this pursuit, VIPS provides innovative pedagogies to encapsulate the prescribed curriculum and consistency, thereby focusing on the holistic growth of every student at VIPS. About MAADHYAM – International Council for Conflict Resolution Maadhyam-International Council for Conflict Resolution, founded by highly accomplished professionals, comprises many renowned, experienced, internationally accredited mediators. It has been at the forefront of developing and implementing training programs for imparting and promoting conflict resolution skills for ADR practitioners, in line with contemporary global trends. Call for Blogs by CAN Foundation’s Vedanam, on Intellectual Property Law (IP Law)

CAN Foundation’s Vedanam is inviting submissions through a ‘Call for Blogs’ on Intellectual Property Law or IP Law, on the occasion of World IP Day. About the Blog CAN Foundation’s Vedanam believes that initiating and engaging in legal discourse on topics of contemporary relevance is essential to attaining proficiency in any field. The Blog aims to publish well-researched, contemporary articles with an analytical outlook. In doing so, Vedanam would not only supplement the legal literature on a range of topical issues but also realize the object and vision of the CAN foundation in increasing access to legal literacy. Call for Blogs Vedanam, on the occasion of World IP Day, is inviting submissions that fall within the vast universe of intellectual property law; with a focus on the potential of young people to find new solutions that support the transition to a sustainable future. World Intellectual Property Day is observed on April 26 every year to commemorate and learn about the significant role of intellectual property (IP) rights in day-to-day lives, specifically encouraging innovation & creativity. This year, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has sought to recognize young people’s huge potential and contribution to finding new and better solutions that support the transition to a sustainable future. The theme, as decided by WIPO, for World Intellectual Property Day 2022 focuses on the youth as an incredible and largely untapped source of ingenuity and creativity – “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future.” Fresh perspectives, energy, curiosity, and “can do” attitude, not to mention hunger for a better future displayed by youth all across the globe, are already reshaping approaches and driving action for innovation and change. Theme To take this further and celebrate World Intellectual Day, Vedanam is inviting blogs on the broad theme suggested by WIPO, namely “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future”. 2nd Bal Gangadhar Tilak National Moot Court Competition by TMV Lokmanya Tilak Law College, Pune

TMV’s Lokmanya Tilak Law College, Pune is organizing an online National Moot Court Competition from April 22 to 23, 2022 and is inviting memorial submissions from law students latest by April 16, 2022. About the Organiser Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV) established in 1921 is recognized by the Government of India in the year 1987. TMV’s Lokmanya Tilak Law College was established in 2012 and was approved by the Bar Council of India. B A., LLB (Five years) and LLB (Three years) courses are offered by the institute. About the Moot Court Competition TMV’s Lokmanya Tilak Law College endeavors to develop legal acumen and research skills of the students and provide a platform to explore emerging issues of law through its 2nd Bal Gangadhar Tilak National Moot Court Competition (Online) 2022. Eligibility Students pursuing 3/5 year Law Course are eligible to participate in this competition. Only one team can participate from each institution. Location The moot court competition would be held online. Team Composition Each team of the competition shall consist of the three (3) members, two (2) Speakers, & one (1) researcher. All the three members of the team, should belong to the same institute. No cross teams i.e. members of different institutes/universities, shall be allowed. Each team should identify such speakers and researchers at the time of registration. There shall be no circumstance whatsoever that a team consisting of more than 3 members be allowed to participate. No observer/ additional member can be part of a team in any capacity. There shall be no substitution of any team member after a team has submitted its Registration Form, except with the permission of the Organizers. Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition (CEC) 2022

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition (CEC) 2022. About the Competition The Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition (CEC) is a part of the Entrepreneurship Campus and was initiated to empower entrepreneurs all around the world to create innovative answers to global and/or community challenges and to engage in a more peaceful and sustainable world. Participants are invited to submit their innovative ideas and projects with a societal impact, which champion and implement one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs and 169 related targets address the most important social, economic, environmental, health and governmental challenges of our time. Before, during and after the CEC you have the possibility to take two courses to help develop a sustainable business model from your idea. You will gain knowledge that can be helpful to change or upgrade existing projects as well. The Brain versus Capital (BvC) course serves as a basis and can also be completed without prior registration. The additional Sustainable Entrepreneurship Course (SEC) is recommended to be done after the end of the BvC course. Both courses are free of charge. Eligibility Anyone who is 13 years old and over with an innovative idea for an enterprise that contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and everyone from 13 years up who is operating such an enterprise in the form of a business, a non-profit organization or an informal program. Anyone who is able to submit their entry in English. Depending on your age, you either take part in the Youth (13 – 29 years old) or the Adult (from 30 years up) category. Prizes and recognition Entries will be posted on the competition website and are subject to online commenting and public voting. Ten finalists in Youth (idea & project) and Adult (idea & project) categories will be determined according to votes and the Personal Activity Indicator algorithm. Finalists are requested to submit a video of their idea/project if they have not done so yet. The video can be a maximum of 3 minutes long, longer videos cannot be considered! From among the finalists, the judges will make the final selection of three winners (Grand Prize, 2nd Prize, and 3rd Prize) in each category. Entries will be evaluated based on their entrepreneurial vision, feasibility, innovation, leadership, social impact, and sustainability, among other factors. Several amendments were made to the Intellectual Property Rights Laws considering the impact of socio-economic and technological developments. However, despite these amendments, there has been a consistent increase in violations of IPR in the form of music piracy, software piracy, linking, caching, framing, digital databases and plagiarism, etc., and these violations adversely affect the economy. Additionally, counterfeiting of trademarks in cyberspace and cybersquatting is increasing day by day, and without stringent provisions, these issues will not be resolved. Trade secret or undisclosed information protection is one of the challenges companies or businesses face in the absence of concrete legal provisions. Further, the Patent Amendment Act 2005 introduced process and product patents in food, chemical, and pharmaceutics; however, there is a need to balance conflicting claims of access to medicine and exclusive right over patents in compulsory licenses. This peculiar imbalance has resulted in a reluctance to grant compulsory licenses, evident from fewer licenses permitted even in medical emergencies. IPR has environmental implications as well. Patent Law has always been criticized for environmental pollution, greenhouse effects, and climate change, and there is an urgent need to revisit the provisions in the light of sustainable development. Growing unauthorized commercial use of traditional knowledge makes indigenous communities more vulnerable, and in the absence of comprehensive law at the international level, it isn’t easy to protect these resources. Further, biotechnological inventions and their impact on the environment need to be reviewed, considering Laws on Climate Change and Biodiversity. Effective enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights can be understood by analyzing the intersection of IPR with other Laws. There is always debate and controversies between IPR and other laws. Such asIPR provides exclusive rights and recognizes the monopoly, and on the other hand, Competition Law prevents monopoly. These are just some of the issues prevailing in the IPR regime. These issues need academic discussion and deliberations. VIPS is organizing ‘Antarnaad 2022’. a 2-segment event with National Nukkad Natak Competition and the National Open-Mic Competition, to be held on April 20, 2022 at the VIPS-TC campus. About the Organizer Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi. VSLLS: Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS), under the umbrella of VIPS, has taken progressive efforts to equip its law students to face the world by developing conceptual clarity and focusing on the creation of research aptitude and critical approaches. VLAC: The Legal Aid Centre of VIPS, since its establishment in 2013, is dedicated to performing its social responsibility. VIPS Legal Aid Centre is connected between the DSLSA and the people visiting us on a regular basis. The Competition The word “Antarnad” refers to the inner voices present within every individual. It is the intrinsic speech of an individual’s soul, the moral compass that differentiates rights from wrongs for that individual, the guiding light that illuminates his path in the journey of life. Antarnad was chosen as the name for this event because through this event, we wish to highlight and bring forth the inner voices suppressed within every individual and give them a platform to let loose and express themselves through acting, more specifically, through Nukkad Natak. Nukkad Natak is a street art play where the actors perform in public with a live audience. Nukkad Natak is used as a medium to reach out to the general public and briefly shift their attention from the hustle and bustle of their daily life to the bigger vices plaguing society. Antarnad 2022 will take place on 20th April 2022 at the VIPS-TC Campus. The competition has 2 segments; the National Nukkad Natak Competition and the National Open-Mic Competition. National Nukkad Natak Competition Theme: Social & Legal Issues Guidelines All the participants are expected to adhere to COVID guidelines and regulations. Only one team from an institution shall be allowed to participate in the competition. Each team shall comprise a total of 20-25 members. Under no circumstances the teams would be allowed to exceed the number of members. The teams must prepare an act of around 15-20 minutes on the theme mentioned above. The team should ensure that their performance should be in Hindi with minimal use of English. The teams must register through the registration form attached with the brochure. Content should be an original piece of work, plagiarized work is strictly prohibited; if found to be plagiarized the organizers and judges reserve the right to disqualify the team or deduct points. Props, background music, and background lightning are allowed, but No pre-recorded voice or music is allowed. Only one member from each team needs to register with whom all communications will be made via mail. A maximum of 5 instruments are allowed per team. Any form of obscenity through actions, images, or language may result in penalties ranging from point deduction to disqualification. National Open-Mic Competition Theme: Open Guidelines All the participants are expected to adhere to COVID guidelines and regulations. Open Mic includes Poetry, Storytelling, Stand-up comedy, Rapping and beatboxing. All participants must register through the link provided for open mic. The preliminary round includes a screening process wherein the participants will be judged on the basis of the write-ups submitted by them on or before 19 April till 7:00 pm. Eligibility Submissions of full papers for the law journal are invited from academicians, practitioners, industry experts, and research scholars. Theme The law journal does not restrict its scope to a particular theme. However, the authors must ensure that the research paper addresses a contemporary legal or socio-legal issue. The topic must be of relevance in the present time, and the authors must show originality in their approach in dealing with the issue at hand. Submission Guidelines The full paper submissions must be in English Word Limit: Submissions should be in the following word limits (inclusive of footnotes) Research papers (4,000- 6,000 words) Case Comment (2000-3000 words) Book reviews (1000-2000 words) Full paper submission must be accompanied by an Abstract of not more than 300 words. Co-authorship is allowed with a maximum of two authors Submissions should be in Times New Roman font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, justified text, and 1-inch margins on all sides. Footnotes should be in Times New Roman font of size 10 with 1.0 line spacing. Endnotes are not allowed. The citations shall conform with the ILI Rules of footnoting available here. The author’s name (s) should not appear on the manuscript to facilitate blind review. All Submissions are to be made in MS Word format and sent to journal.law[a]vupune.ac.in The name, affiliation and designation, mailing address, mobile number, and e-mail address of the author (or corresponding author, if more than one author) must be mentioned in a separate MS-Word document, in the same mail. All submissions shall go through a plagiarism check. The similarity percentage should be within UGC-approved guidelines. Deadline Submit the full paper for the law journal by May 15, 2022.
