ILS Law College, Pune, India announces the Professor S.P. Sathe 16th International Conference 2021-2022 in memory of Professor S.P. Sathe, to be held on 8-9 April, 2022. About the Organiser ILS Law College, or in its full name Indian Law Society’s Law College, is a government-aided law school in Pune, India. It was established in 1924 and offers courses that include three-year and five-year degrees. ILS is located on Law College Road, Pune. The college was aided by The Ford Foundation. About the Conference Climate change has emerged over the last few decades as the ‘defining human development challenge of 21st Century’. The legal journey of balancing the responsibility for climate change is one fraught with many hurdles. The diversity between the climate change contributors and the climate change vulnerables and their conflicting interests have delayed the global response to climate change, taking us to the brink of disaster. Through this conference, we take the opportunity to shed light on this issue and come up with a policy that can be applied to address climate change at the local level and may later serve as a blueprint for different regions and stakeholders. Articles will pass through blind peer review and acceptance will be subject to the report of the peer review team. Submissions not meeting the requirements mentioned will not be reviewed. The Editorial Board reserves the rights to accept and reject the submissions at any stage of the review. The decision of the organizers regarding selection of the papers shall be final. Requests for in-absentia presentations shall not be entertained. Submission must be accompanied with short bio of the author/s (It should include name of the author/s, occupation, designation & name of the institution, email id, mobile phone no and contact address, title of the paper). The bio should be in a separate document. The selected papers will be published by the organisers. VII SRMIST National Moot Court Competition 2022, SRM School of Law

SRM School of Law is organizing their VII SRMIST National Moot Court Competition, 2022, scheduled to be held online from March 11 to 13, 2022. About SRM School of Law SRM School of Law is situated within the SRM Institute of Technology, Kattankulathur Campus. Since its inception in 2014 has laid focus on a holistic approach to the study of law, taught in the context of the socio-economic-cultural developments in India. This is the sixth edition of the Annual National Moot Court Competition. About the Competition We, SRM School of Law, take immense pleasure in inviting you to the VII SRMIST National Moot Court Competition, 2022 scheduled from 11th to 12th March, 2022 at our institution. This year the moot proposition is based on Constitutional Law. The rounds will be judged by sitting and retired High Court Judges, Legal Luminaries and Legal Experts to maintain the vigour and to get the best out of the teams. Interested institutions are requested to provisionally register their participation through email on or before 02 March 2022 and send their soft copies of registration form along with demand draft on or before 08 March 2022. Elgiibility All students enrolled in 3-year LLB programme or 5-year integrated LLB programme shall be eligible to participate in the VII SRMIST National Moot Court Competition, 2022. Team Composition The team composition shall be as follows: 2 Speakers & 1 Researcher. The teams may choose to participate without a Researcher. Participants will receive an approval as confirmation of their online registration & participation from time to time as and when they register. 12th UPES Dr. Paras Diwan Memorial International “Energy Law” Moot Court Competition 2022

UPES School of Law is organizing the 12th UPES Dr. Paras Diwan Memorial International “Energy Law” Moot Court Competition from April 15-17, 2022. About UPES School of Law UPES, Dehradun, founded in 2003, is one of the top-ranking universities in India which offers multiple courses and specializations. With wide variety of constituent colleges including business, law, engineering and design, the University has expanded over the years. The University has been accredited with grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Government of India in year 2021 and strives to achieve more heights in the coming years. About the Competition UPES School of Law has been successfully organizing the UPES Dr. Paras Diwan Memorial International ‘Energy Law’ Moot Court Competition with an aim of creating opportunities for learning and development of jurisprudence on emerging trends in Energy Law by budding professionals by developing cutting-edge skills in research, writing, and advocacy. The competition has sought to preserve and advance the legacy of Dr. Paras Diwan, an eminent Indian jurist and a stalwart in the field of law. The competition sees participation from top law schools of India and abroad and is considered one of the most coveted moots of the country. In the light of the pandemic, the 12th edition will be held virtually this year. The platform for the competition is via virtual conference. Eligibility and Team Composition The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bona-fide at the time of the competition on a regular basis in an undergraduate law course or its equivalent conducted by any recognized Institution/College/University. A recognized Institution/College/University shall be entitled to send only one Team for the Competition. Each Team shall comprise of three members. Two members of the Team shall be designated as Orators and the third member shall be designated as the Researcher. Any additional member or Team Coach accompanying a Team shall not be recognized and will not be entitled to a certificate from the OC. NLU-Jodhpur’s Journal of Intellectual Property Studies (JIPS) is inviting submissions by a ‘Call for Papers’ on Intellectual Property Law. The manuscripts must pertain to the field of intellectual property law or to related fields such as media and technology law. The deadline for submission for manuscripts is 27th March, 2022. The Journal subjects all articles to a review process by our student editors prior to publication. We also benefit from the guidance of our illustrious Board of Advisors who help the Journal attain its objectives. The Journal stands by the ideals of open access to scholarly works and it will be published online on an open-access platform for everyone to read and cite freely. Theme The manuscripts must pertain to the field of intellectual property law or related fields such as media and technology law. General Guidelines Manuscripts must conform to the scope and theme of the Journal of Intellectual Property Studies (‘the Journal’). The Journal is dedicated to publishing nationally and internationally relevant content relating to law and policy in intellectual property rights. This includes overlapping areas such as competition laws and technology laws. All submissions must primarily deal with these subject areas. All submitted manuscripts shall be original. Any form of plagiarism would lead to immediate rejection of the submission. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously. Once a manuscript has been selected for publication or has been published in the Journal, the author(s) must seek permission from the Editorial Board before publishing it elsewhere. Such permission may or may not be granted at the discretion of the Editorial Board. The author(s) must inform the Editorial Board if the manuscript has also been submitted to another journal, website or forum. The Editorial Board must be notified immediately if an offer for publication from another journal, website or forum is accepted by the author(s). The text and citation styles shall conform to the rules prescribed in The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th edition). Manuscripts The body of the manuscripts shall not contain or disclose any information pertaining to the author’s name, affiliation or credentials. The Journal accepts the following kinds of submissions: Articles: Must extensively and holistically discuss the subject-matter (4000 up to 10,000 words). Articles must be accompanied by an abstract of 250-300 words. Case Comment: Critical analysis of significant case laws (up to 5,000 words). Case comments must be accompanied by an abstract of 150-200 words Legislative Comment: Comprehensive analysis of recent legislative developments (1000- 3000 words). Legislative comments must be accompanied by an abstract of 150-200 words. While authors are required to adhere to the prescribed word limits, departures from the same will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Submission Procedure The Journal accepts submissions on a rolling basis. Issues are published bi-annually in January and July respectively. About National Rounds of the Competition In National rounds, around 30-35 teams from leading law schools participate. There are two stages in the competition, viz. client interviewing and counselling; and post- interview and counselling stage, without client. The competition is judged on the basis of specific criteria like: establishing the working atmosphere and professional approach, suggesting alternatives, and allowing the client to make an informed choice, etc. The Competition simulates a law office consultation in which two law students, acting as lawyers (attorneys/solicitors/legal practitioners), are presented with a client matter. The participants conduct an interview with a person playing the role of the client. Participants are expected to elicit the relevant information from the client, explore with the client his or her preferred outcome, outline the nature of the problem, and present the client with a means (or range of alternatives, if appropriate) for resolving the problem. The interview with the client is then followed by a post- consultation period during which the participants, in the absence of the client, analyze the interview and discuss the legal and other work to be undertaken. The interview and post-consultation period last a total of 35 minutes. The participants are evaluated by a panel of judges. The participants are evaluated against specific criteria that emphasize the use of listening, questioning, planning, and analytical skills in a lawyer/client interview. Once the judges have completed their evaluation of the interview, the participants are called back in and the judges provide a brief critique of the team’s handling of the consultation and post-consultation periods. The contributions submitted towards publication in TGLR must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. The contributions shall be evaluated on the basis of originality, innovativeness, clarity and technical correctness. Authors shall solely be responsible for the accuracy of statements in the article. Co-authorship is allowed to a maximum of 2 authors. The manuscript must not contain the name of the author(s) or his/her institutional affiliation or any other information. A separate cover letter containing the name of the author(s), professional information, contact details and other relevant information must beprovided. Essay Competition on International Trade Law, NLSIU and CIRIL

NLSIU and its Council for International Relations and International Law (CIRIL) are organizing an Essay Competition on International Trade Law. About NLSIU NLSIU was the first National Law University established in India in 1986. The premier law school was set up with a mission to pioneer legal education reforms, and to anchor the transformation of the Indian legal system through research and policy interventions. The National Law School of India University completed 32 years in 2020. The founding faculty and students of this University have created what is arguably the most successful University in India in this generation. For over three decades now, the University has irrefutably remained a leader in the field of legal education in the country. 2021 was the fourth year in a row that the University has secured the top spot in the NIRF rankings! We have consistently maintained the top spot in the category since law was added as a category. Many of our alumni have done exceedingly well across fields, including international relations and international law. At NLSIU, we understand that the world is in urgent need of intellectual, professional and political attention. The University is committed to providing students with the knowledge, tools and facilities required for them to be at the forefront of tackling the social and moral problems of the day, while helping them lead the complex transformation that current environmental and socio-political challenges pose for our societies, especially in the developing world. This Essay Competition is also in furtherance with NLSIU’s larger goal of achieving a paradigm shift in the field of legal education and foster transformative ideas. About CIRIL The Council for International Relations and International Law (CIRIL) is a student-run committee at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India’s premier legal institution. We work to promote scholarship and interest in the fields of international law, international relations, and foreign policy. To this end, we organise competitions, periodic Lectures, study circles, and symposia. In the previous academic year (AY 2020-21), we organised multiple panels, which saw talks from multiple well-reputed and well-established dignitaries from the field of international law and international relations. These panels included a panel discussion on careers in international law, Rohingya crisis, et al. We are committed to continue to hold more value-adding panels. At the beginning of this academic year (AY 2021-22), we had the privilege of having World Bank lead counsel (and a proud NLSIU alum) Mr. Vikram Raghavan, to deliver a talk on the importance of economics for lawyers and the working of the World Bank. We also started a social media series #CIRILupdates where we regularly post weekly updates on the recent developments in the domains of international relations and international law. In pursuance to our goals, we are proud to announce the Essay Competition to harness the vivid potential of students across the country, and allow them to contribute to the discourse! Themes International trade law and environmental regulation Examples: Carbon credit and impact on international trade; fisheries subsidies. Health impacts of free trade Examples: Medical products and TRIPS; Vaccine equality. International trade law, development and inequality Examples: MSP & farmers protests; gender & trade law; rights of indigenous persons. Future of multilateralism in trade: recent concerns (WTO and regional trade agreements) Examples: Implications of the Trade Facilitation Agreement for developing countries; analysing the impacts of regional trade agreements on free trade (RCEP, CPTPP etc.); Appellate Body crisis and Walker principles; US-China Trade wars. Registration Participants will be charged a registration fee of Rs. 100. All registered participants will have the opportunity to attend 2 webinars by experts in the field of international trade law. All registered participants who submit essays for the competition will be awarded E-Certificates. Submission Guidelines Register and make payment for the competition using this form. Once you are allotted a code after registration through mail, you can fill this form to submit the essay at any stage before the submission deadline. It should be in MS Word format (.doc) or (.docx) with the name of the file as the allotted code. No biographical information or references, including the name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s) and acknowledgements should be included in the text of the essay document. The word limit is 3000-4000 words, excluding footnotes. No substantive footnoting is permitted. An abstract of not more than 200 words shall be provided. Co - authorship is not permitted. The body of the paper shall be as follows: Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5. Citations Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 10, and Line Spacing: 1. Headings should be in bold and center-aligned. Footnotes must conform to the OSCOLA (4th edition). Endnotes are not permitted.
