About the Moot
Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad is delighted to announce the 6th National Moot Court Competition, 2022 (6th NMCC, 2022) that shall allow students to deal with an exceptionally crafted hypothetical case and showcase their argumentative skills.
The event shall be held virtually with an expert panel of eminent personalities judging the rounds, aiding students in gaining experience and knowledge like never before!
The moot proposition for the 6th NMCC, 2022 has been crafted with the view of providing a holistic understanding of Information Technology Laws, Data Privacy, and Constitutional Law, therefore facilitating a multi-disciplinary learning experience.
Students duly enrolled and pursuing full time 5 years or 3 years undergraduate law course may apply to participate in 6th Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad National Moot Court Competition, 2022.
Students enrolled and pursuing post-graduate diploma or short-term certificate courses in law are strictly ineligible to apply.
Students from any University/Department/Institute not recognized by the Bar Council of India, to impart law degrees are strictly ineligible to apply.
Every Institute is allowed to register ONE participating team only.
Each team shall consist of THREE members only, comprising TWO Speakers and ONE Researcher.
All three members of a team should belong to the same institution, cross-institute teams are strictly ineligible to participate in the 6th NMCC, 2022.
Any team, intending to change the team composition of the team shall intimate the Governing Council by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Any person, other than the registered team members, shall not be eligible to avail facilities reserved for the student participants or be present during the oral rounds.
Every Team is expected to duly register themselves via the Preliminary Registration form by 12th February, 2022, 11:59 PM.
While filling the Preliminary Registration Form, Teams are required to attach a duly signed copy of the authorization (Provided in Annexure- III) provided by their Institution alongside the proof of payment (Kindly refer to Annexure I for details of registration fee)
Post the release of the Memorial Qualifier Rounds, the Top 30 teams shall qualify for the Oral Pleadings to be held from 18th to 20th March, 2022.
ONLY the teams qualifying the Memorial Qualifier Round are expected to fill the Final Registration Form along with the proof of payment of on or before 17th March, 2022, 11:59 PM.
Any team wishing to withdraw from the competition may do so by sending an email to email@example.com on or before 20th February, 2022, 11:59 PM with the subject line being “Withdrawal- 6th NMCC, 2022”.
The registration fee for the competition is Rs. 500/- per team (Rupees Five Hundred Only), for the Preliminary Registration. The deadline for payment of the Preliminary Registration fee is 12th February, 2022, to be paid by all teams wishing to participating in 6th NMCC, 2022.
The teams qualifying the Memorial Qualifier Round are expected to further remit a fee of Rs. 2500/- only (Rupees two Thousand Five Hundred Only) towards their participation in the 6th NMCC, 2022. The deadline for payment of the Final Registration fee is 17th March, 2022, only to be paid by teams qualifying the Memorial Qualifier Round.
Only selected teams as per Rule 4.1, Chapter III shall fill in the final registration form along with the receipt generated after the completion of the wire transfer of the registration fee. The softcopies of the aforementioned documents must be attached to the registration form and submitted within the deadline of payment of registration fee i.e., on or before 5:00 pm, 17th March, 2022.
The registration fee for the ‘6th Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, National Moot Court Competition’ is to be paid through a wire transfer only. The required details for the same are contained in Annexure I. No other payment method shall be accepted.
All teams must attach a screenshot/scanned copy of the receipt generated on payment of the registration fee to the Final Registration Form.
Registration to 6th Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad National Moot Court Competition shall be deemed to be confirmed only on completion of all the formalities as specified underRule 7 and 9, failure to do so, may be treated as withdrawal from the competition and no claim of what so ever nature shall be entertained.
Any additional charges incurred by the team while making the wire transfer are tobe borne by the team.
On completion of the registration process, any team may withdraw from the competition by duly following the process as specified under 7.6., Chapter II. No refund shall be given under any circumstance in case of such withdrawal.

Structure of the Competition
The competition will be held for three days, 18th to 20th March, 2022. Information relating to Draw of Lots will be communicated at a later stage.
Upon qualification from the Memorial Qualifier Rounds, the competition shall consist of Preliminary Round, Quarter Final Round, Semi-Final Round and the Final Round.
The rounds shall be conducted virtually by way of video conferencing, the details of the platform will be given to the teams prior to the competition. The Meeting ID, Password and Link will be communicated to the teams via email.
The structure of every oral pleading round shall be as follows: the Petitioners/Appellants shall present their arguments first, followed by the Respondents. After the conclusion of the Respondents’ pleadings, Petitioners/Appellants may proceed with the Rebuttal, followed by Sur-rebuttal by Respondents.
The winner of the Final Round shall be declared as the “Winner” of the competition and shall be awarded a Certificate of Merit.
The opposing team making it to the final, ranking second in the Final Rounds shall be declared as the “Runners-up” and shall be awarded a Certificate of Merit.
Best Speaker shall be determined on the basis of the highest average marks obtained in the preliminary round, and shall be awarded a Certificate of Merit.
Best Memorial shall be determined on the basis of the highest marks obtained in the memorial qualifier round, and shall be awarded a Certificate of Merit.
Every participating team shall be awarded a ‘Certificate of Participation’. Teams not qualifying the Memorial Qualifier Round, shall not be awarded any certificate. Trophy, Gifts, Cash prizes and other prizes given by sponsors, if any, shall be additional to what has been mentioned.
E-certificates will be granted for both the Certificate of Participation and certificate of Merit.
