8th edition of NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial (CfP)

About the Journal The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws was established in 2008 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) as a ‘Centre of Excellence’?, with the aim of generating awareness and facilitating research in the field of business and commercial laws.   About the Call for Papers The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws is thrilled to release the Call for Papers for the 8th edition of one of its most highly anticipated events of the year, the NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws, in collaboration with Trilegal.   Eligibility Authors must be pursuing their LL.B. (Hons.) / LL.B. / LL.M. from any recognized university for the academic year of 2022-2023, to be eligible to participate in the Summit.   Theme Persons who wish to participate in the Summit shall be encouraged to incorporate an innovative and diverse approach to the topic while taking into consideration a wide array of issues arising out of commercial and corporate laws. The submissions are expected to be of contemporary social relevance and must demonstrate high standards of scholarship. Furthermore, authors are encouraged to use diverse methodology and base their research on the analysis of existing judicial practice, legal instruments and sources, or based on empirical data.   Submission Guidelines The word limit of the manuscript shall be as follows: Long articles – 4000 to 7000 words Short articles- 2000 to 4000 words Case comments- 2000 to 4000 words Legislative Comments- 2000 to 4000 words Submissions are expected to be original work by the author and meet high academic standards. The following guidelines ought to be followed: The title must succinctly encapsulate the topic and explain the body of work. There must be an abstract (250-300 words) which briefly describes the idea behind the submission, its structure, and the author’s conclusion(s). A submission will not be accepted if it has been plagiarized. The NLIU-Trilegal Summit has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. Please note that any plagiarized submission will be outrightly rejected. Co-authorship is permissible only up to a maximum of two authors. However, co-authorship is not allowed for Case Comments, Legislative Comments, and Book Reviews.   Formatting Guidelines Kindly adhere to the following formatting guidelines: The title must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 14, in CAPITALS, Bold, aligned CENTRE. The text of the main body of the manuscript must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, 1.5 spacing between lines and automatic spacing between paragraphs, aligned JUSTIFIED. We accept citations in the form of footnotes which must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, spacing 1, aligned JUSTIFIED, OSCOLA 4th Edition.   How to Submit? Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts before 11:59 PM on 8 March 2023, via the google form provided at the end of this post. The form must contain the following documents, in addition to the manuscript and personal details and affiliation of the author(s), without which the submission will NOT be accepted:- An originality statement, signed by the author(s), declaring that the manuscript is the original work of the author(s); A copyright statement, signed by the author(s), whereby the author(s) agrees that the copyright in the work shall vest with CBCL. This competition is organized in memory of Princess Noor Inayat Khan on the Eve of International Women’s Day,Princess Noor Inayat Khan (January 1, 1914 –September 13, 1944) was a British heroine of World War II. She was born in Moscow to an Indian father and an American mother and grew up in France. After the German invasion of France, she joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) and was trained as a wireless operator. In 1943, Princess Noor was recruited by the Special Operations Executive (SOE), a secret British organization responsible for espionage and sabotage in occupied Europe. She was the first female radio operator to be sent to France, where she worked under the code name “Madeleine”. Despite the risks, Princess Noor continued to transmit messages to London, helping to coordinate the French Resistance. Unfortunately, Princess Noor was betrayed by a French collaborator and arrested by the Gestapo. She was tortured and eventually executed at the Dachau concentration camp in September 1944, at the age of 30. Princess Noor was posthumously awarded the George Cross, the highest civilian award for bravery in the United Kingdom, for her heroic actions during the war. The competition aims to promote the spirit of writing and provide a platform for aspiring writers to showcase their talents.   Eligibility Criteria Legal research & Analysis profoundly invites all concerned parties and stakeholders, Including Students, writers, authors, Editors, scholars, academicians, Professors, and almost everyone with a basic level of writing sense, Entries must be submitted in English. NALSAR-CCI Second Antitrust Moot Court Competition

About NALSAR The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research is a National Law University located in Shameerpet, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Established in 1998, it is a public law school and one of the first universities in the nation to offer the five-year B.A., LLB. course.   About the Competition The objective of this Moot Court Competition is to stir up research and thinking on emerging issues in competition law. The holistic practice of competition law in India is just about a decade old, and therefore, there is a lot of jurisprudence around the subject that is being constantly shaped (and reshaped) by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and other appellate courts and tribunals. Furthermore, the CCI’s advocacy initiatives under the Competition Act, of 2002 perfectly complement the moot’s desire to introduce a serious conversation around competition law in India. The direct involvement of the CCI has only led to additional credibility for the competition.   Eligibility The Competition is open to students currently enrolled in LL.B. Degree Courses (3 years/5 years) or LLM Postgraduate Degree Courses enrolled in any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India. Applications from Cross-institutional Teams are accepted. There is no limit on the number of teams applying from one institution.   How to Register? Teams of 2 (speakers) or 3 (2 speakers and 1 researcher) are welcome to register. To register fill out the form given in the link below. Once registration has been verified teams will be assigned a Team Code (” TC- XX”) for identification for the duration of the Moot. Sawant Ninth National Moot Court Competition 2022-23” shall be held on 12th & 13th March 2023 at Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College, 202/A, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune.   Eligibility Criteria Competition is restricted to undergraduate bonafide regular students of Law School/College/University. All participants must be students of Law Courses for either 3 or 5 years in the academic year 2022-23.   General Rules  Each college shall send only one team which shall comprise of minimum two and a maximum of three members. This number can’t be modified under any circumstances. There shall be Two Mooters and One researcher in each team. Teams shall identify such speakers and researchers during registration. The researcher won’t be allowed to speak except under special cases and only with the express permission of the organizers. Each team will be given a unique team code number which will thereafter be the identity of the team and its members. During the course of the competition, the identity of the team must not be disclosed to the Judges or to any other person. Any such disclosure shall lead to disqualification. About the Journal The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws was established in 2008 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) as a ‘Centre of Excellence’?, with the aim of generating awareness and facilitating research in the field of business and commercial laws.   About the Call for Papers The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws is thrilled to release the Call for Papers for the 8th edition of one of its most highly anticipated events of the year, the NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws, in collaboration with Trilegal.   Eligibility Authors must be pursuing their LL.B. (Hons.) / LL.B. / LL.M. from any recognized university for the academic year of 2022-2023, to be eligible to participate in the Summit.   Theme Persons who wish to participate in the Summit shall be encouraged to incorporate an innovative and diverse approach to the topic while taking into consideration a wide array of issues arising out of commercial and corporate laws. The submissions are expected to be of contemporary social relevance and must demonstrate high standards of scholarship. Furthermore, authors are encouraged to use diverse methodology and base their research on the analysis of existing judicial practice, legal instruments and sources, or based on empirical data.   Submission Guidelines The word limit of the manuscript shall be as follows: Long articles – 4000 to 7000 words Short articles- 2000 to 4000 words Case comments- 2000 to 4000 words Legislative Comments- 2000 to 4000 words Submissions are expected to be original work by the author and meet high academic standards. The following guidelines ought to be followed: The title must succinctly encapsulate the topic and explain the body of work. There must be an abstract (250-300 words) which briefly describes the idea behind the submission, its structure, and the author’s conclusion(s). A submission will not be accepted if it has been plagiarized. The NLIU-Trilegal Summit has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. Please note that any plagiarized submission will be outrightly rejected. Co-authorship is permissible only up to a maximum of two authors. However, co-authorship is not allowed for Case Comments, Legislative Comments, and Book Reviews.   Formatting Guidelines Kindly adhere to the following formatting guidelines: The title must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 14, in CAPITALS, Bold, aligned CENTRE. The text of the main body of the manuscript must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, 1.5 spacing between lines and automatic spacing between paragraphs, aligned JUSTIFIED. We accept citations in the form of footnotes which must be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, spacing 1, aligned JUSTIFIED, OSCOLA 4th Edition.   How to Submit? Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts before 11:59 PM on 8 March 2023, via the google form provided at the end of this post. The form must contain the following documents, in addition to the manuscript and personal details and affiliation of the author(s), without which the submission will NOT be accepted:- An originality statement, signed by the author(s), declaring that the manuscript is the original work of the author(s); A copyright statement, signed by the author(s), whereby the author(s) agrees that the copyright in the work shall vest with CBCL. About MADR   ‘Mapping ADR’ is a student-run research platform aimed at facilitating discussion on the contours of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms. A key aspect of this platform is the Mapping ADR Blog, a focused and convenient avenue for those who are interested in writing and are keen to publish ideas on contemporary issues surrounding ADR practice. Given the growing interest in the legal fraternity in developments on ADR and its increasing prominence, discussion on it is more relevant now than ever.  Our aim has been to critically explore issues both specific to the Indian legal arena as well as increasingly relevant transnational alternative dispute settlement. Our blog pieces are a testament of this vision. Till now, MADR has published 75+ articles. In addition, the blog regularly hosts articles, interviews, and recent case updates in the field of ADR  Our editorial board consists of 20+ dedicated students who work under the guidance of Prof Ashwin Mishra to publish original and thought-provoking literature.     Submission Guidelines   The journal invite original submissions on subjects pertaining to ADR, which includes but is not limited to Arbitration, Mediation and Commercial Negotiation.   Authors must ensure that their chosen theme/arguments have not already been substantially covered in past articles or contemporary discourse. However, this does not apply to responses or differing perspectives on existing content.   Articles must be between 1,500-1,800 words. This is flexible, based on the quality of the piece.    Include tables, charts, and relevant figures where appropriate.   The Font of the article needs to be “Garamond”, the font size should be 12, and the text should be justified.   Submissions should be made in .doc or .docx format only.   Use hyperlinks rather than citations for references. Links should direct readers to more detailed reports or other pieces of research, news items or other blog posts. If the source is not available online, only OSCOLA (4th Edition) citation in the form of endnotes is permitted.   Submissions should be concise and should analyse contemporary legal issues.   All contributions must be submitted along with four to five relevant keywords.   A small abstract of around 100-120 words must be submitted with the article.    Co-authorship of a maximum of two authors is permitted.   All contributions should be sent to – mapping-adr@jgu.edu.in, with a cover letter in the body of the email mentioning the name, designation and institutional affiliation of the author(s).   The blind double-review process will take 7-10 days.   The author(s) must not mention their name in the document.   The Editors of the Blog reserve absolute discretion in determining whether the article is accepted or requires any further revisions before being published. About Law Centre-1 Law Centre-1 was established in the year 1970 and is into its 53 rd year of service to legal education. Law Centre – I focuses on the development of the all-around personality of its students, teachers and non-teaching staff. The Centre is also the pioneer in initiating the National Moot Court Competition in Human Rights in the year 2013 in collaboration with National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).   About the Moot The LC-1 All Delhi (NCR) Moot Court Competition is a signature moot court competition organised by Law Centre 1 every year. It is organised especially for colleges and universities of Delhi and NCR. This is going to be the 16th Edition of the moot court competition. Over the years, it has witnessed participation from prestigious colleges and universities of Delhi and NCR. It has had judges from the Supreme Court, various High Courts, eminent lawyers and jurists. The moot problems over the years have delved into various areas of law, putting interesting legal dilemmas and quintessential factual matrix before the participants. This moot court aims to stimulate the faculties of critical reasoning and fine advocacy skills in the participants, which is evident from the fact that over the years, the moot has seen some very novel and erudite arguments being made by the participating teams. The XVII LC-1 All Delhi (NCR) Moot Court Competition will be held on March 31 & April 1, 2023 in the OFFLINE MODE. The competition may see conduction in a single day or span over two days, final decision with respect to this shall be communicated to the teams well in advance. Website can be accessed here.   Eligibility and Team Composition All Law Colleges and the institutions imparting legal education (Both 5 year and 3 year LL.B. course) recognized by the Bar Council of India situated in Delhi NCR are eligible to participate in the competition. Each team shall consist of a minimum of two members and maximum of three members. This team composition cannot be altered under any circumstances. Every team shall consist of two speakers. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, RGNUL, to provide critical and necessitated focus towards fostering the objective of carrying fundamental and applied research on the evolving aspects of transformative criminal justice system including the dimensions of victimology and criminology as particular areas of interest.   About the Legislative Drafting Competition Rajiv Gandhi National University of law, Punjab’s Centre for Criminology, Criminal justice and Victimology (CCV) is hosting its 2nd RGNUL-CCV Legislative Drafting Competition, 2023. This competition provides a platform where the best minds can come forward and critically utilize this opportunity of curating and drafting the legislative bills whereby experiencing the nuances of framing the law with the aim of encouraging the students towards the process of law making and governance. The objective of the competition is to provide a platform to the brilliant minds to undertake analytical research of laws related in different jurisdictions and to come up with intellectually- driven provisions that can be implemented within the Indian framework. Legislative drafting helps individuals to enhance their knowledge, implementation and interpretation of the law and nurtures their ability to identify the current challenges in law and suggest solutions. The competition seeks to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience & invites law students and legal practitioners to draft legislations. Participants have to draft a legislation titled “Victims of Cyber Crime.” Through this competition, the Centre seeks to create awareness of having a proper legislation that is dedicated to promote and protect the rights and ensure proper safeguards to a victim. The Centre aims that through this competition, a solution can be found that can help in providing assistance and protection to the victims at every stage of investigation, trial, and post-trial within the Indian criminal justice system. Bill that is to be drafted should inculcate those aspects that particularly deal with the rights, protection and assistance of a victim and each of the provisions should cover the operational and the procedural part with elaborative details on the extent of the Bill to show which all crime victims are covered within its ambit. The Bill should also cover those provisions that the drafters find incidental or ancillary to the topic of the Bill and thinks that certain provisions should come under the main theme of the competition.   Who is it for? The Competition is open to all law students pursuing LLM or LLB. (3-Year or 5-Year course from a recognized university within the territory of India).   Registration Procedure Participants may register as individual or in a team of two. There is no restriction on the number of entries from any college or university. Multiple teams can participate from a single university.
