4th International Moot Court Competition by NMIMS Kirit P Mehta School of Law
4th International Moot Court Competition by NMIMS Kirit P Mehta School of Law

The SVKM’s NMIMS Kirit P Mehta School of Law’s 4th International Moot Court Competition, 2022 is scheduled from August 5 to 7, 2022 on the theme of International Crimes.   About the Organiser With the legacy of 38 years, NMIMS has grown to be not only one of the top-IO B-schools in India but also emerged as a multi-disciplinary, multi-campus University and fourteen constituent schools, of which Kirit P Mehta School of Law is one. Established in the year 2013 approved by the Bar Council of India aims to provide a Law School with a global focus and international outreach dedicated to advancing human dignity, social and economic welfare, and justice through knowledge of the law.    About the International Moot Court Competition The first ever International Moot Court Competition was held on the theme of ‘Data Privacy’ in 2019. The second international competition was held on the theme of ‘International Environment Law’ which was originally scheduled for March 2020 but since we were hit by the pandemic, the competition was successfully concluded on a virtual platform in August 2020. The previous edition in 2021,  which was held last year on the theme of ‘International Investment v. National Security’, saw a participation of over 200+ students from across the world with pertinent teams from international institutions being a part of the competition, along with the presence of over 60 esteemed legal luminaries from the Supreme Court, various high courts and prestigious law firms across the country. The SVKM’s NMIMS Kirit P Mehta School of Law’s 4th International Moot Court Competition, 2022 is scheduled from August 5 to 7, 2022 on the theme of International Crimes. The proposition for this edition has been drafted by the prestigious Mr. Ankoosh Mehta, (Partner-White Collar Crimes), Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.   About the Theme Theme for the 4th International Moot Court Competition is International Crimes: Humanitarian Law and War Crimes. International crimes include the most serious crimes that are a matter of global concern. The four main categories are primarily genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. Since these crimes affect a considerably large number of people, it becomes crucial to have laws that may help regulate situations like war and also punish those responsible for mass death and destruction. Humanitarian law also referred to as the laws of armed conflict specifically deal with and regulates the conduct of war. War crimes may include heinous offences like killing civilians, killing prisoners of war, wartime sexual violence, committing genocide and others. Since forested offences are a serious concern globally, it becomes important to understand the intricacies.  With this background in place, the moot proposition for the 4th International Moot Court Competition delves into the intricacies of international humanitarian law in an endeavour to unravel the underlying controversies and complexities. The proposition thereby attempts to provide the participants with an exhilarating scenario to explore the contours of international crimes and thereby arrive at a settlement in conformation with the applicable laws and standards.   Eligibility All students enrolled bona fide in an undergraduate i.e. 3 years/ 5 years and postgraduate law programme conducted by any college or university shall be eligible for participation in the competition. Each College/University/Institution shall be allowed to register only one team in the competition.   Location The event will be conducted in a hybrid format. It shall be compulsory for the national teams to be physically present at the venue (Mumbai campus) for the competition while the international teams can join us virtually.   Registration Procedure Teams can provisionally register themselves by sending an email with the details of the participating team and college name at mcc.sol[at]nmims.edu. Call for Papers | Justice V.K. Dixit Memorial National Conference & Paper Presentation by University of Lucknow
Call for Papers | Justice V.K. Dixit Memorial National Conference & Paper Presentation by University of Lucknow

About The Conference The Pro Bono Club, Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, is organising the Justice V.K. Dixit Memorial National Conference & Paper Presentation on the theme “Reimagining Access to Justice: Role of Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism & Pro Bono Legal Services” on 02 May 2026. Historically, access to justice has been defined by physical proximity to courts and the availability of legal representation. However, in today’s dynamic legal landscape, justice must transcend geographical, procedural, and economic barriers, through both institutional and alternative mechanisms. The contemporary discourse on access to justice is undergoing a transformative shift; at the core of this transformation lies the growing prominence of pro bono legal services, which serve as the moral foundation of the legal profession. Despite its deep-rooted presence in Indian legal tradition, pro bono work remains largely unstructured and sporadic. Equally significant is the role of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms which are no longer merely an “alternative.” ADR is increasingly being recognised as a primary and efficient pathway to dispute resolution. Nevertheless, critical questions remain regarding its inclusivity, accessibility, and effectiveness.Eligibility Criteria Undergraduate and Postgraduate law students Research scholars and Doctoral Candidates in law and allied disciplines.
